Bee Pollen Heals Wounds from Herpes & Slows Down Aging Process

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Healthy Eating, herpes — Vivienne Quek @ Jul 3rd, 2008

Micheal Thomas has written a wonderful article on the wonders of bee pollen and how it can help to minimize the discomfort for people suffering from herpes and also help to slow up the aging process… Here’s what he said:

Bee pollen and herpes, what do they have in common? The pollen from the bee actually has a component that speeds up the healing of wounds from the herpes condition. Herpes is a widely spread sexually transmitted disease in adults caused by the herpes simplex virus or HSV. The symptoms include blisters and ulcers on the mouth, face, genitals, and around the anus area. Once a person is infected with herpes, he or she remains infected for life. There is no known total cure for herpes, just some minor treatment for the wounds or blisters caused by it.

Bee pollen and herpes patients have gone along well through the years because the ingestion of pollen makes the symptoms disappear for long periods of time. So what exactly is in the pollen that cures the herpes’ painful symptoms? The answer is the Pantothenic acid, a part of B vitamin complex family that effectively speeds up the cure of herpes wounds.

The bee products with propolis, a powerful natural antibiotic from bees, are more effective against the herpes simplex virus. This is because of the high concentration of flavonoids and luteolin in propolis that are very efficient in reducing pain, itchiness, and inflammation in herpes patients.

What are the other things herpes patients can expect from taking in bee supplements?

By taking in daily bee pollen products, one’s body will experience an outstanding increase in natural energy. This is one reason why there are a lot of athletes who include a bee product in their daily diet. It has also been found to increase mental functions and concentration in adults as well as aid in young children’s IQ development. Adults are able to think clearly, even if they are in their senior years, and children are able to learn and comprehend lessons in school fast.

One of the best health benefits is its ability to slow down the aging process of each individual. This is due to the fact that it restores vigor and enhances cell regeneration processes. This health benefit from the pollen is commonly observed on the skin of a person taking bee products daily. They appear younger compared to their actual age and their skin is supple, soft, smooth, and almost wrinkle-free.

The pollen from the bee also normalizes chemical imbalances in the human body. These chemical imbalances often affect one’s metabolism resulting in various weight problems like overweight and underweight. Metabolism in overweight people will be increased resulting in faster fat burning and a flushing process due to the high lecithin percentage in the pollen. Overactive metabolism causing underweight in some people will also be normalized by a bee supplement. It can also suppress food cravings to help one reduce some of the unwanted weight and be able to eat healthier selection of food groups.

There are more health benefits from the pollens that we haven’t mentioned here. The important thing is for herpes patients to know that there are natural sources, like these pollens, that can help them with their painful symptoms. Bee pollen and herpes are indeed lasting. When the pollen is improperly stored and handled, it will lose up to 76 percent of its nutritive value within twelve months. The only way to preserve the high potency of pure pollen is the method of freeze drying.

Freeze drying bee pollens maintain its freshness and preserves all the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients intact. Other bee pollen collectors do not handle their bee pollens very well and even subject their bee pollens in the heat drying process, the fastest way to dry out the product but the worst way in trying to preserve the bee pollens’ potency. Bee keepers in New Zealand see to it that they harvest bee pollens at least twice a week because they know the exceptional nutritive value of bee pollen freshness.

5 Initial Steps to Heal Eczema

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Eczema — Vivienne Quek @ Jul 1st, 2008

I wish I had read this article by writer cum health reporter, Janet Simpson, many years ago when I first discovered the skin rashes on my legs was eczema. I probably would have freed myself from the excruciating itch and pain. She said these are the first few steps a sufferer should take to make life easier:

1. Stopped eating all dairy products. Some people will find their skin itch even more after taking cheese, milk, yoghurt and cream products.

2. Eat at least one meal that consisted of 65% raw foods. Basically a huge salad that contained bean sprouts, pumpkins seeds, vegetables, salads and a healthy salad dressing. After a short you should feel and see the difference in your skin.

3. Drink at least two large raw vegetable juices every day. This could be organic spinach, carrots, celery, ginger and cucumber. The objective is to cleanse and rejuvenate your body on a regular basis.

4 . Eat a lot more bean sprouts as they contain skin healthy, vital enzymes. They are easy to germinate or you can buy them from any good health store. (Click the link to find out a list of sprouts)

5. Eat healthy fats like Avocados and Flax Seeds amongst other. (Click the link to find out more on healthy fats)

These 2 experts shared their views on eczema. Evelyn Lim even compile an eczema diet book which you might want to refer on top of what Janet Simpson has recommended here.

5 Raw Herbs to Treat Eczmea

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Eczema — Vivienne Quek @ Jun 24th, 2008

I mentioned that there are 5 Healthy Fats to Combat Eczema in my last post. Today, I’ll like to share what a list of 5 raw herbs that John Crawford mentioned.

Of all, I’m only aware of the medicinal benefits of Flos lonicerae, commonly referred as Jing Yin Hua by the Asians. Over the years, I had use Jing Yin Hua plus some other herbs to make into a brew to ease cold and cough.

The five raw herbs used are listed below.

1. The Flos lonicerae (Japanese honeysuckle) flower is of high medicinal value in traditional Chinese medicine, where it is called rn dMng téng (literally “Winter enduring vine”) or Jing Yin Hua (literally “gold silver flower”). It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is used (often in combination with Forsythia suspensa) to dispel heat and remove toxins, including carbuncles, fevers, influenza and ulcers. It is, however, of cold and yin nature, and should not be taken by anyone with a weak and “cold” digestive system. In Korean, it is called geumeunhwa. The dried leaves are also used in traditional Chinese medicine.

2. Cortex moutan (root bark of peony tree), is a woody species of peony, named after Joseph Rock. It is native to the mountains of western China, mainly in Jiangsu and adjoining provinces. This tree peony is cultivated as an ornamental plant. It is very frost hardy and resistant to fungal diseases, and is grown in Europe, particularly in northern countries, such as Sweden and Finland. In Germany it is the most hardy tree peony species. Like Paeonia lactiflora, another Chinese peony species, it is used as a herbal remedy in traditional Chinese medicine.

3. Peppermint is sometimes regarded as ‘the world’s oldest medicine’, with archaeological evidence placing its use at least as far back as ten thousand years ago. Peppermint has a high menthol content, and is often used as a flavouring in tea, ice cream, confectionery, chewing gum, and toothpaste. The oil also contains menthone and menthyl esters. It is the oldest and most popular flavour of mint-flavoured confectionery. Peppermint can also be found in some shampoos and soaps, which give the hair a minty scent and produce a cooling sensation on the skin.

Peppermint, like many spices and herbs, is believed to have medicinal properties when consumed. It is said that it helps against upset stomachs, inhibits the growth of certain bacteria, and can help soothe and relax muscles when inhaled or applied to the skin. Other health benefits are attributed to the high manganese, vitamin C and vitamin A content; as well as trace amounts of various other nutrients such as fibre, iron, calcium, folate, potassium, tryptophan, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, riboflavin, and copper.

4.The Cortex phellodendri is resistant to drought and insects, and it can thrive in a variety of soils. It is hardy to zone 4 and it is easy to maintain, sometimes to the point of being invasive. One drawback is that the drupes fall and scatter, which may be undesirable on a formal lawn. The bark in some species is thick, resembling that of the Cork Oak, but is not thick enough for commercial cork production. It has been used to produce a yellow dye.

5. Atractylodes Rhizome are considered very important to the treatment of digestive disorders and problems of moisture accumulation. The herb helps move moisture from the digestive tract to the blood that reduces diarrhea, gas and bloating. Atractylodes is rarely ever used by itself. It is usually included into tonic prescriptions

5 Healthy Fats to Combat Eczema

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Eczema — Vivienne Quek @ Jun 20th, 2008

Here’s some new information I have dug up from Janet Simpson, a writer and health reporter, on ezcema treatments.

According to her, not all fats are bad. In fact, there are a few fats that work wonders on building strong immune systems and fighting off diseases including eczema. These good fats help create radiant and healthy skin. I found the information pretty interesting and I’m sure those who suffer from eczema will want to include more of good fats in their daily diet. I have started…

5 Healthy Fats to Combat Eczema

Avocados – the fruit creates stable energy and helps produce exceptional health. Avocado will help to eliminate your eczema if included in your diet regularly.

Flax Oil – Grind flax seeds bought from any local health store and pour the mixture is over soups, salads, added to stir fries, and anything you eat will help to improve eczema. Grinding your own flax seed will ensure you got the freshest oil possible. Take note that no more than six tablespoons of flax seed should be consumed on a daily basis. You can feel the softness of your skin almost immediately.

Hemp Oil – Hemp seeds are full to bursting in sulphur containing amino acids and have a perfect balance of essential fats

Coconut Oil – This oil great protects you from bacteria, yeast, fungal or any other micro organisms. Besides eczema, people who suffer with herpes, Candida and Giardia also use coconut oil to keep ailments to a minimum.

Extra Virgin oil – Extra Virgin Oil is an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. It will sooth the skin, stop or reduce the itching and burning and it will also sooth away any inflammation.

Finding practical Information on Eczema is time consuming. If you are still searching, I suggest you look at the fats you are consuming whilst you continue to search. In the meantime, you may also want to check out more from Janet Simpson’s “Cure Your Eczema in 14 Days”. Another eczema expert, Evelyn Lim, compiled her research and experience into an Eczema Diet Secrets book.

Here’s to smooth, soft skin …

Mango

This is something I heard from my Indian friend. I asked if it is one of the famous Ayurvedic treatment but she wasn’t sure. She said it was passed down from her maternal grandmother who swore by mango peel being an effective home remedy..

According to the old lady, you are to

Peel off the mango skin, and boil the pulp in water. Allow it to cool and apply this paste over the infected area for 10-15 days.

Hair Analysis Results Prove Cancerous Cells Turn Benign in 2 weeks!

Filed under: Cancer, Cures & Treatments — Dr. Bob Koh @ Jun 7th, 2008

After I (Dr Bob Koh) published my first post that I have successfully treated a 3rd stage colon patient where his cancerous cells turned benign under 2 weeks using non-invasive holistic, I received several feedback that I should show some proof. I can understand the concerns, doubts and skepticism and am most happy to share the first 3 hair analysis results. The 4th hair analysis will be done soon.

Here’s the updates on the Stage 3 colon cancer and lung cancer patient.

Just a footnote to explain some of the numbers that I will be using from the hair analysis test results:

An indicator of +21 is a very healthy indicator for the organ or system, and a normal healthy individual must have at least a +17. A number +16 and below is an unhealthy state.

The first hair sample was taken on 25 Mar 08, before the start of my alternative cancer treatment protocol, and after the treatment a 2nd hair sample was taken. A 3rd sample was taken on2 May 08, and a 4th hair sample was taken 8 weeks after the start of treatment on 30 May 08.

The hospital did a colonscopy on 19 Mar 08, and that was the first time the patient was told that its colon cancer. A 2nd colonscopy was taken by the same hospital on 7 May, about 6 weeks after the start of my treatment. We have the photos of the two colonscopy to show the before and after effect.

DATA of FIRST HAIR ANALYSIS, 25 March 2008

COMPARATIVE INDICATOR: +15 Unhealthy state (Should be +17 and above)

IMMUNE SYSTEM: +15 (POOR, Shld be +17 and above)

EMOTIONAL STATE: +3 (DEPRESSED AND VERY STRESSED)

LIVER:+7 (FOR MANY YRS POOR; should be at least +17 and above)

LUNGS: -5 (Early stage lung cancer, not discovered at hospital, BUT SHOW UP IN THE HAIR ANALYSIS)

KIDNEYS: +13 (WEAK KIDNEYS)

STOMACH: +9 (PATIENT HAD POOR STOMACH CONDITION, GASTRITIS/STOMACH ULCERS ETC FOR MANY YEARS)

COLON: -10 ( CANCER/CARCINOMA)

INTESTINAL FLORA AND FAUNA +5 (INSUFFICIENT, INDICATOR OF COLON HEALTH)

TUMOR -15

CARCINOMA/CANCER -15

BLOOD PH +6 (ACIDIC; HIGH RISK TO HAVE CANCER, STROKE, HEART ATTACK)

GENERAL HEALTH: +9 (VERY HEALTHY IS +21, LESS THAN 50% OPTIMUM)

LYMPHATIC SYSTEM: +5 (VERY POOR CONDITION, SIGN THAT CANCER MAY HAVE SPREAD TO THE LYMPH NODES.)

COLON CANCER -10

DATA of SECOND HAIR ANALYSIS, 7 April 2008 - CANCER STOP GROWING IN JUST LESS THAN 2 WKS!!!

COMPARATIVE INDICATOR: +21 (VERY HEALTHY- Previously it was +15 unhealthy stage at 1st hair analysis test.) (more…)

An Open Letter to Doctors from Dr Bob Koh

Filed under: Cancer, Cures & Treatments — Dr. Bob Koh @ May 24th, 2008

Dear Friends,

Dr Bob KohI want to put on record and appreciation of the great advances and understanding of disease and conditions that modern medicine has given mankind. The funding provided by large pharmaceuticals firms in scientific research, clinical trials/studies etc has contributed much to our understanding of how our body functions etc.

However, I firmly believe the best service to mankind in terms of high quality healthcare system and high quality patient care is to promote Integrative Medicine, integrating the technologies and know-how of the West with thousands of years of wisdom from historical Asia Minor and the East.

I am very open to working with enlightened Oncologist/Cancer Specialist to provide non-invasive alternative cancer treatment. For most types of cancer if detected early, a surgical procedure and chemotherapy is not necessary. For my Stage 3 Colon Cancer patient the hospital only confirmed colon cancer, but did not detect lung cancer as it was at an early stage. Please refer to another article on how I treated this Stage 3 Colon Patient successfully.

That’s is also one reason why lung cancer patients, when detected, goes very fast - like the Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Nasimuddin who died on May 2, 08 of lung cancer, when he was reported to be healthy and playing badminton on Jan 08. This might sound like a boast, but I would have increased his chances of survival had we met.

THESE ARE MY WISH LISTS:

If anyone knows of any Oncologist/Cancer Specialist who is interested to cooperate with me and offer Integrative Medicine for the treatment of cancer, I will be very pleased to work with him. He can have all the credit and fame. It doesn’t bother me as long as I can treat cancer patient and he does the monitoring of the process of the patients. Offering a total and wholesome solution for all types of cancer.

I WOULD love to work with (more…)

Alternative Treatment Stopped Cancer Cells from Growing Under 2 Weeks!

Filed under: Cancer, Cures & Treatments, Healthy Lifestyle — Dr. Bob Koh @ May 15th, 2008

If you found this blog and are reading this message, there might be a reason for it.

Dr Bob KohFor more than 35 years, I have been teaching many people about healthy diets and that “we are what we eat”. Yet many people unintentionally eat their way into hospitals. So you can understand the state of shock I was in when I was hospitalized 19 years ago for severe liver problems and my doctor told my wife that I had only six months to live.

Instead of waiting to die, I studied many different modalities of letting my body heal itself. 19 years later today, I am in the pink of health and my liver is in better condition than most people now. This is confirmed by various tests done and confirmed by western trained (medical) doctors practicing in recognized hospitals.

I have been practicing as an alternative medicine practitioner for more than 10 years now. I am convinced that if you know how to control the variables and factors that lead to degeneration and poor health, and restore the body’s self-healing functions; you can truly lead a life free from disease and pain - for the rest of your life.

Successfully treated Stage 3 Colon Cancer Patient in 2 weeks

On 25 March 2008, I was invited to treat a Stage 3 Colon Cancer patient in Singapore. The Specialist treating the patient had advised the family that about 4.5 cm of the colon must be surgically remove and connected back with titanium staple. This is to be followed by 12 weeks of chemotherapy, spaced at 2 weekly intervals.

According to the Specialist, after surgery and chemotherapy,

  • 80% of patients will relapse and cancer will return within 2 years
  • 20% of patients will suffer a relapse within 5 years and cancer will come back.

As the family wanted to try alternative treatment before subjecting to invasive surgery, they asked the Specialist how soon the surgery must take place. The family was informed by the Specialist that the patient life will not be in danger if surgery is postponed for 4 weeks.

I told the family that I only need 3 weeks to know if my methods will work for a particular patient. If my methods do not work, he still has time to do his surgery and chemotherapy without endangering his life due to the delay.

I took a hair sample on 25 March 2008 to an independent lab for analysis to know the patient’s health condition before the treatments starts. The hair analysis report confirmed the colon cancer; however, it also detected early stage lung cancer which had NOT been detected at the hospital, when they discovered colon cancer.

The overall health indicator was +15 indicating that his overall health is below par. A normal person should be + 17 and a very healthy individual is +21. After 2 weeks of treatment using my multi-disciplinary treatment protocol, we took another hair sample on 7 April 2008 for testing and analysis.

The 2nd test results showed that his overall health indicator has shot up to +21, that of a very healthy individual and that his CANCER CELLS HAVE STOPPED GROWING in just 2 weeks of treatment !!!!

The doctor who is doing the hair analysis remarked that he has seen many alternative cancer treatments, but this is the first time he has seen such a remarkable improvement in such a short time (of just 2 weeks)!

His 2nd colonoscopy done on 7 May 2008 at the hospital, compared to the one taken before 25 March 2008 showed a great improvement, and the body is able to kill the cancer cells with the multi-disciplinary treatment protocol. At this rate of progress, the patient will not need surgery or chemotherapy.

You can check out the hair analysis results at Hair Analysis Prove Cancerous Cells Turn Benign in 2 weeks.

To do the surgery the hospital quoted S$12000 (US$8580) and the 12 weeks of chemotherapy at S$50,000. (US$35,714), and the risk of cancer relapse and coming back again is there, as it does not treat the root cause of cancer.

Using my treatment protocol, it will be cheaper, and on top of that, the cancer will not come back as we treat the root cause, as long as the patient follows our recommendations. (more…)

 Lasik is Not For Everyone?

I just read the article, Panel calls for clearer Lasik warning published by The Associated Press.

It reported that 700,000 Americans had undergone Lasik operation seeking for better eyesights. However, about 1% or fewer came out of the operation theaters suffering serious, life-changing side effects. Some got worse vision, others got severe dry eye, yet some suffer from glares or seeing halo effects. All resulted in the inability to drive at night.

It’s the same here in Singapore where I resided. The government also issued warnings to people who are considering and seeking Lasik treatment. Some surgery went terribly wrong.

If 99% of people had successful surgery, surely there’s no need for governments around the world to issue an alert? Not really. A risk is still a risk. Some of us are risk averse and will not want to suffer any consequences. Some like to make an informed decision.

I knew about there’s a risk and I had talked to many ophthalmologists on the subject since Lasik came about. During the first year, my ophthalmologist whom I knew since 6 years advised me to wait another 1-2 years for the technology to settle. I heed his advice. When he gave me a green light to proceed, I still sought to speak several other ophthalmologists. One of the questions asked was: Why are there so many ophthalmologists still wear glasses when there’s so many forms of surgery to correct poor eyesight. One doctor said the more he knows about the risks, the more he is weary to do it on himself. So, he echoed what Dr Jayne Weiss of Detroit’s Kresge Eye said (in the aforementioned article) :

“I can read without my glasses and … operate without my glasses, and I love that,” she said. “The second aspect is I would not tolerate any risk for myself. … Does that mean Lasik is good or not good? It means Lasik is good but not for everyone.”

I, on the other hand, decided to take the plunge. Soldiers who lost their glasses in the battle field resort to Lasik operation for safety and security reasons. Me too. I couldn’t see a person’s face if he is standing 6 feet away from me. I couldn’t even find my glasses on my own should I forgotten where I placed them. After a few panicky incidents due to poor vision, I decided to fork out US$2960 to fix it once and for all.

What’s the result? I have almost perfect vision right now and I’m happy with the results. However, I did experience some temporary discomfort for about 2 weeks after the Lasik surgery:

On the first night, I could hardly open my eyes. When I did, all I could see are glares, double images and halo. My eyes tear easily but the pain was bearable. I had to put on a clear plastic eye mask to sleep for the next 5 days. According to the surgeon, that was to protect my eyes from unconscious scratching while I was sleeping.

The second day was quite all right but I felt a sharp pain growing increasingly on the left eye. I still see double images, glare and halo in the evening but much smaller and not so bright. I can see the surrounding images around the light much better too.

A follow-up visit on the third day had the surgeon proclaimed that the surgery was a success. The pain was due to a slight tear and it would be healed on its own within a week. By the 3rd evening, night vision returned and I could almost see normally.

By the 4th day, I can see everything normally. Though I did not achieve a 6/6, I’ve got what I wanted. I could see a person’s face even he is 10 feet away from me. I have no needs to hunt for glasses because I don’t need them any more. I just need to lubricate my eyes as they were dry

By end of the 2nd week, the dryness of the eyes was gone too.

I was one of the fortunate 99% who went through Lasik operation successfully. However, like my Lasik surgeon said, every operation carries a certain amount of risks. You must weigh the pros and cons before going for an elective surgery. For folks out there who are considering Lasik operation, do check out the surgeon, the clinic and the hospital who is doing the op for you. If in doubts, get second opinions. And yes, read up before you make a consultation appointment because you would want to ask intelligent questions that impact on your eyes.

Homemade Eczema Treatment (4) - Watermelon & Coconut Oil

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Eczema — Vivienne Quek @ Apr 9th, 2008

I was talking to a friend on eczema diet and she shared with me one of her secrets:

Dry the peel of a watermelon, the large variety type that has a deep green skin with blackish green stripes with bright red pulp with black seeds inside. She said to burn the dired peel to an ash. Take a spoonful of this ash and add enough warm coconut oil to make a paste. After it is cool, apply this on the eczema-ridden patch.

Coconut oil is long known to have healing properties on eczema so that was not a surprise, but watermelon is not as well documented. There’s go to tell that we must keep ourselves informed of fellow sufferers’ healing tips.

 Herbs for Herpes

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, herpes — Vivienne Quek @ Apr 3rd, 2008

Before anyone use herbs to treat body and skin diseases, they must remember that herbs contain active substances that can trigger side effects and interact with other herbs, supplements or medications. As such, herbs should be consumed and used under the supervision of a practitioner knowledgeable in herbal medicine.

At Health and Age, there is a list of 6 common herbs used to improve herpes conditions. I have extracted some of the more commons ones here:

1. Aloe (Aloe vera)
Preliminary evidence suggests that aloe gel used topically may improve the symptoms of genital herpes. Whether this same use of aloe will apply to oral herpes lesions is not known, but it may be worth trying in order to reduce the length and severity of your symptoms. Talk to your doctor about the possibility of using topical aloe vera for herpes lesions.

3. Lemon Balm (Melissa officianalis)
Some studies suggest that topical ointments containing lemon balm may help heal herpes cold sores. In one study of 116 people with HSV, for example, those who applied lemon balm cream to their lip sores experienced significant improvement in redness and swelling after only two days. Although other symptoms (such as pain and scabbing) did not improve, both the participants and their physicians reported that the lemon balm ointment was highly effective. Several animal studies also support the value of topical lemon balm for oral herpes lesions. (more…)

Homemade Eczema Treatment (3) - Crisco

Filed under: Cures & Treatments, Eczema — Vivienne Quek @ Mar 26th, 2008

I have cited oatmeal and ice therapy as 2 homemade eczema remedies but I did not realized the crisco we use for baking is effective too.

It sounded so weird but Crisco did work for Debbie Russell from Somerset, Kentucky. She said

“My daughter had eczema to the point of breaking out in welts all over her body. We tried everything until someone told me to use Crisco on her. I completely covered her in Crisco 2-3 times a day. She was white and greasy but the Crisco absorbs quickly. The eczema is gone.”

So for those of you who are gung-ho to use alternative and holistic treatment, well, you can jolly well add Crisco as part of your repertoire of homemade eczema remedies. Well, you might already have it in your kitchen.
